Save to your city mapThe Roman Forum was previously Rome's market square, and was for centuries the center of Roman public life. Many impressive archeological remains of old Roman buildings are still visible, and each building on the square has its own remarkable story, including government buildings, and the court house. Today it is an archeological site, the remains have been well preserved and allow the visitor to step back in history, and admire the stonework which has been standing for millennia.
