Save to your city mapThe famous Basilica du Sacre Coeur is an impressive Basilica on top of the Montmartre hill in Paris. The Sacre Coeur (which means Sacred Heart) was built between 1876 and 1914 in memory of the many victims of the Franco-Prussian War. The imposing Basilica is a mixture of Romanesque and Byzantine style architecture and is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Paris. There are two ways to reach the Sacre Coeur, you can either climb the 237 steps, or take a cable car, the 'funiculaire' to the top!
