Save to your city mapThe Queen's house is an imposing building, built in the style of a garden villa to complement the Tudor palace at Greenwich. It was commissioned by Charles I for his wife, Henrietta Maria and features some foreword thinking architectural designs for the period. With the 'tulip staircase', and beautiful views of Greenwich Park and the Royal Observatory, the house was designed to compliment the surrounding landscape. During the 2012 London Olympics the house was used as a VIP area during the equestrian competition in Greenwich Park. Entrance to the Queen's House is free.
