Save to your city mapThe Scott Monument is a memorial to the famous Scottish writer, Sir Walter Scott, and proudly graces the Prince Street Gardens. It was designed by George Meikle Kemp and constructed back in 1840. It is roughly 61 metres tall and you can climb to the stop, up the 287 steps if you have the energy! It is well worth it as the views over Edinburgh are stunning, particularly at dusk.
