Save to your city mapLa Monnaie, or De Munt is a historic theater at the Place de la Monnaie in the center of Brussels. It was established in 1800 as a new public theater for opera, theater, and ballet. The theater was built on the site of the former Herberge of Oostervant, hence the origin of the name La Monnaie. Today they still host traditional performances including ballet and classical music.
